Masai Mara National Park is located about 270km from Nairobi. Its south side flows smoothly into the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The park is home to various species of flora, such as rare acacias. Millions of wild animals cross the Maru River every year migrating north from the plains of the Serengeti Park; wildebeests, gazelles and zebras, in particular. The migration of animals takes place from July to October. However, the park is suitable for visiting outside the migration period as well.
From your hotel on the beach or in the city, our driver will pick you up between 6am-7am. The departure depends on the current traffic situation and the location of your hotel. We will agree on the exact time and place where to pick you up and we will confirm it a day before your trip. You will head to a small airport – an airstrip where a small plane and its crew will be ready waiting for you. The clear advantage of an air safari is that you avoid traffic jams and relatively slow Kenyan traffic. The crew flies low, giving you truly magnificent views of the grassy savannas and the Masai River, which flows through the park. The flight takes about 2.5 hours from the coast and 45 minutes from Nairobi. Masai Mara National Park is located about 270km from Nairobi. In the period from December to February, the park has favorable conditions for the observation of large felines. Masai Mara is known for its high numbers of lions, cheetahs, hyenas and leopards. There are also protected white and black rhinos in the park. However, you need a great deal of luck to observe those. In the park you will certainly meet its original inhabitants, the Maasai, who continue to live here in their traditional way. A trip to the Masai Mara Park is recommended for a minimum of 3 days. Of course, it is possible to extend the trip or shorten it to a two-day trip. It all depends on your time possibilities and ideas. We will go over the possibilities together with you and plan your trip to the Masai Mara so that you can see and experience as much as possible however you decide. Upon your arrival in the park a driver will be waiting for you. He will take you through the park towards the accommodation of your choice. You will check in here and have lunch. After lunch and a short rest break you will go to watch the "Big Five" (lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards and rhinos). After the tour, you will return to your accommodation, where you will have dinner and time to relax. At the same time, you can still watch the animals coming to a nearby watering hole.
You have the opportunity to spend the whole day in the park watching the animals and looking for the "Big Five". You will leave immediately after breakfast and have lunch in the park in the form of a picnic. On this day it is also possible to visit a Masai village or a balloon flight is available (for an additional fee). Before sunset, you will return to the lodgings for dinner. In case it would be difficult for you to spend the whole day in the park, it is possible to adjust the program and divide it into a morning and an afternoon tour of the park with lunch and a short relaxation in your accommodation. Again, it depends on an individual agreement.
The tour will start early in the morning and will continue until lunch. It will be interrupted only by a short break for breakfast and check-out. The tour will lead to the airport - airstrip from where you will fly back to Mombasa or Nairobi. Here our driver will be waiting for you again. He will take you directly to your hotel. On this day, you will have lunch packed with you for the trip and dinner will be available back at your hotel.
